NRL's paper injection moulding technology has demonstrated it has superior commercial advantages over similar competing
products produced using conventional manufacturing processes.
The current paper pulp moulding industry uses processes that require large, centralized, high energy consuming plant and
equipment to produce low value, visually un-attractive products. Advantages using NRL's paper moulding technology:
- Compact de-centralized industrial process that is energy efficient and very cost effective.
- A multi stage process that moulds and produces a finished dried product in situ with NO secondary drying.
- Capable of producing high quality, more intricately shaped paper products.
- Diverse range of complex containers for a wide range of product applications.
- Commercially viable packaging alternative to plastic containers that ticks all the environmental boxes.
- The ability to incorporate additives during manufacturing process, such as natural colouring, fire and waterproofing etc.
World's First Injection Moulded Paper Bottle
NRL are pleased to announce as of February 2010 that we have successfully manufactured the world's first injection moulded
paper bottle. This proof of concept demonstrates the capability of our process in producing a complex cube shaped
container complete with screw thread, all made entirely from recycled paper pulp.
Future Developments
It is the mission of NRL to evolve a diverse range of injection moulded paper products that will replace everyday high
energy, non-biodegradable packaging that has proved harmful to the environment.
